New Store Opening: The essence of Copenhagen cycling culture on your doorstep

After five weeks of intense refurbishments, we are proud to open the doors to our universe of high-quality and stylish urban commuter bicycles and accessories straight out of Copenhagen. Being located at Frederiksborggade 31 in central Copenhagen and having one of the the busiest bicycle lanes anywhere in the world is a great inspiration for us as cool Copenhageners. Every day, we see a constant stream of Copenhagen street style outside our windows; dapper gents and chic super mums riding in style past our store, fueling our imagination.

At Velorbis, we listen and learn from Copenhageners on a bike – and we always love a relaxed and informal chat – which is why we’re launching a new ‘Friday Bar’ concept at our new store. Every Friday from now on we’ll be offering cool, complimentary refreshments sponsored by our great urban cycling partner, Carlsberg. The best way to start the weekend? Probably. On our drinks list is the new Nordic line of fantastic alcohol-free beers, as well as the classics. We’d love to see you, just stop by in our opening hours.

One of the great things about our new store is that we have a lot of space to showcase all of our different bicycle models, currently 20+ different cycles and tricycles including a variety of e-bikes, which are fast becoming the must-have mode of transport in Copenhagen. We have many test bikes so feel free to come and take a ride.

You might have noticed that our store doesn’t look like a traditional bicycle shop. The reason is that we don’t see ourselves as a typical bicycle brand, we’re more of a lifestyle brand. We’re constantly trying to capture the Copenhagen urban cycling spirit… and bottle it. This mindset is reflected in everything we do – from bicycles to bags and other cycling goodies, and now our new store design. It’s a combination of minimalism and sleek, straight lines mixed with the Scandinavian way of embracing the ruggedness and beauty of natural materials – a special recipe finished with a touch of Danish ‘hygge’. It’s a bit hard to explain, it really needs to be seen, touched and felt, hence our new store.
